In addition to advocating for and advising her clients, Sarah also performs neutral work, such as serving as a mediator, arbitrator, and third party investigator. Sarah uses her extensive experience in litigation and knowledge of labor and employment law to guide parties towards mutually beneficial resolutions. As an independent and neutral fact finder in workplace investigations, she assists employers conduct investigations into workplace complaints or concerns, like allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblowing. In this role, Sarah analyzes documents, gathers information, conducts witness interviews, and if appropriate, provides recommendations or conclusions and may draft investigative report(s).
Additionally, Sarah provides guidance in workplace safety and health, including pre-injury and illness preventative practices, including site inspections, policy development, incidents relating to OSHA inspections, and appeals. She also has experience managing catastrophic workplace accidents and fatalities.
Sarah also provides advice and counsel to employers regarding legal compliance, risk assessments, implementing preventative measures, as well as providing employee training on various labor and employment best practices. Through these efforts, Sarah helps organizations maintain a fair and respectful work environment, address employee concerns early and effectively, and helps minimize legal exposure.
