Dena Sanders is an attorney at Shields Petitti & Zoldan, where she represents employees and small businesses in a wide range of employment law matters. Her practice includes issues involving workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, and other disputes arising under federal and Arizona employment laws. Dena works with clients through all stages of the legal process, from pre-litigation counseling and negotiation to formal litigation, helping individuals navigate complex workplace issues and protect their rights. She also advises small businesses on employment-related compliance and provides policy drafting and review services to help employers develop clear, legally compliant workplace policies.
Dena earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A. in English Literature, cum laude, from California State University, Northridge. Prior to joining the firm, she gained experience both in private practice and as in-house counsel for healthcare and educational institutions, providing her with a broad perspective on workplace dynamics and employment-related legal issues. She is a member of the Arizona Employment Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Arizona. Outside the office, Dena enjoys spending time with her two dogs (Shelley and Harvey) and three cats (Buffy, Rumpelstiltskin, and Linkavitch Chomofsky), painting, playing video games, and testing her knowledge with all things trivia.
